4,430,676 passengers travel via Muscat International Airport through June 2014

Air traffic movement at Muscat International Airport by the end of the first quarter 2014 witnessed an increase in the total number of flights and passengers. The total number of flights increased by 1.3% standing at 40,204 flights by the end of June 2014 compared to 39,695 flights in the same period in 2013. The total number of passengers passing through Muscat International Airport increased by 7.5% over the first half of 2014, reaching 4,430,676 passengers compared to 4,122,548 passengers in the same period last year.
Breaking down the figures, the total number of international flights at Muscat International Airport reached 35,510 flights in the first six months of 2014, compared with 35,206 flights registered over the same period in 2013 representing a growth of 0.9%. A recently published air traffic report issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) reveals that the total number of passengers on international flights passing through Muscat International Airport - including arrivals, departures and transit passengers - increased by 7.5%, standing at 4,040,128 passenger compared with 3,758,421 passenger over the same period last year, 2,004,476 of whom were classified as arriving passengers, 2,018,544 departing passengers and 17,108 transit passengers.
During the same recording period, the total number of domestic flights through Muscat international Airport until end of June reached 4,694 flights compared with 4,489 flights over the same period last year, representing 4.6% growth. Meanwhile, the total volume of passengers travelling on domestic flights reached 390,548 in 2014, compared to last year's figure of 364,127, representing an annual growth of 7.3%.
Meanwhile, air traffic at Salalah Airport witnessed a remarkable activity during the same period, recording a significant rise in the total number of flights and passengers. The overall volume of flights by the end of the first half of 2014 stood at 3,982 flights compared with 3,100 flights in the same period last year, representing an increase of 28.5%. Additionally, the total number of passengers increased by 15.6% totaling 386,029 compared to 333,979 passengers in the same period last year.
Air traffic movement data shows that the total number of international flights at Salalah Airport until the end of June 2014 reached 1,490 flights compared with 722 flights during the first half of 2013, representing an annual increase of 106.4%, while the total number of passengers travelling on international flights increased by 74.5% standing at 115,913 passengers compared with 66,419 passenger. The total number of domestic flights at Salalah Airport by the end of June 2014 reached 2,492 flights compared with 2,378 flights, representing an annual increase of 4.8%. The total number of domestic passengers travelling through Salalah Airport grew by 1% over the same period.

ارتفعت حركة الطائرات في مطار مسقط الدولي بنهاية النصف الأول من 2014، حيث شهدت ارتفاعاً في عدد الرحلات بنسبة 1.3 بالمئة لتصل إلى 40,204 رحلة مقارنة مع 39,695 رحلة للفترة المماثلة من العام 2013. كما ارتفع إجمالي عدد المسافرين حتى نهاية يونيو الماضي بنسبة 7.5 بالمئة ليصل إلى 4,430,676 مسافراً مقارنة مع 4,122,548 مسافراً للفترة المماثلة من العام 2013.
وفي التفاصيل؛ بلغ إجمالي الرحلات الدولية في مطار مسقط الدولي بنهاية النصف الأول من العام الجاري 35,510 رحلة مقارنة مع 35,206 رحلة والمسجل بنهاية الفترة ذاتها من العام 2013 وبنسبة ارتفاع بلغت 0.9 بالمئة؛ وتشير بيانات حركة الطيران الصادرة عن المركز الوطني للإحصاء والمعلومات إلى تسجيل إجمالي المسافرين (القادمون، المغادرون، وركاب العبور إلى وجهة أخرى "ترانزيت") عبر مطار مسقط الدولي ارتفاعا بنسبة 7.5 بالمئة ليصل إلى 4,040,128 مسافراً مقارنة مع 3,758,421 مسافراً للفترة المماثلة من العام 2013، يتوزعون إلى 2,004,476 قادمون، و2,018,544 مغادرون، و17,108 مسافر عابر إلى وجهة أخرى "ترانزيت".
ومن ناحية أخرى؛ بلغ إجمالي الرحلات الداخلية عبر مطار مسقط الدولي حتى نهاية يونيو الماضي 4,694 رحلة مقارنة مع 4,489 رحلة للفترة ذاتها من العام السابق بنسبة ارتفاع بلغت 4.6 بالمئة، بينما بلغ إجمالي المسافرين خلال الفترة ذاتها 390,548 مسافرا مقابل 364,127 مسافرا بنسبة ارتفاع 7.3 بالمئة.
من جانب آخر شهدت حركة الطيران في مطار صلالة نشاطا ملحوظا خلال الفترة المذكورة؛ حيث سجلت ارتفاعا كبيراً في إجمالي عدد الرحلات والمسافرين، فقد بلغ إجمالي عدد الرحلات بنهاية النصف الأول من العام الجاري 3,982 رحلة مقارنة مع 3,100 رحلة للفترة ذاتها من العام السابق، مسجلة نسبة نمو بلغت 28.5 بالمئة، كما ارتفع إجمالي عدد المسافرين بنسبة 15.6 بالمئة ليصل إلى 386,029 مسافراً مقارنة مع 333,979 مسافراً للفترة المماثلة من العام 2013.
وتشير بيانات حركة الطيران إلى أن إجمالي عدد الرحلات الدولية في مطار صلالة حتى نهاية يونيو الماضي بلغ 1,490 رحلة مقارنة مع 722 رحلة مسجلاً نسبة نمو بلغت 106.4 بالمئة، كما ارتفع إجمالي عدد المسافرين خلال الفترة ذاتها بنسبة 74.5 بالمئة ليصل إلى 115,913 مسافراً مقارنة مع 66,419 مسافراً. بينما بلغ إجمالي عدد الرحلات الداخلية في مطار صلالة بنهاية يونيو الماضي 2,492 رحلة مقارنة مع 2,378 رحلة بنسبة نمو بلغت 4.8 بالمئة، و شهد إجمالي المسافرين عبر الرحلات الداخلية في مطار صلالة ارتفاعا بنسبة 1 بالمئة ليصل إلى 270,116 مسافراً مقارنة مع 267,560 مسافراً للفترة ذاتها من 2013.
