King Abdulaziz International Airport's (KAIA) administration announced that 2015 witnessed the largest ever air traffic at the airport since its inauguration. The volume of passengers in 2015 was more than 29,785,874 passengers that used the airport’s 3 terminals, which reflect an increase of 6.6% compared to 2014.
The statistical report revealed the steady rise in the year 2015 in passengers’ traffic is accounted for the increase in domestic passenger traffic by 23% versus 3% for international passenger traffic compared with the general traffic in 2014. Moreover, Umrah traffic at the Jeddah airport reflect 50% of the total Umrah traffic in Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, the number of Hajj passengers at KAIA reflected more than 40% of Hajj traffic in the Kingdom in 2015. It is noted that the number of passengers that used the Hajj Terminal in 2015 reached almost 8 million; whereas, 15 million passengers used the South Terminal and 6.9 million passengers used the North Terminal (foreign airlines).
