The Senate and White House have reached agreement on a USD 2 trillion stimulus package for the US economy and millions of Americans ravaged by the coronavirus crisis.
Part of the package includes USD 58 billion for loans and payroll support for airlines and aviation industry workers, but links the assistance to strict conditions regarding executive pay, stock buybacks, dividends and requirements to maintain employee levels through the third quarter of the year.
The Senate and House of Representatives still need to pass the legislation before sending it to President Donald Trump for his signature.
The measure will put cash directly into the hands of Americans hard hit by the crisis, provides grants to small businesses and hundreds of billions of dollars in loans for larger corporations including airlines, and expands unemployment benefits.
