His Excellency the President of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Dialej signed a bilateral agreement in the field of air transport services between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, which was represented by the Ambassador of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay to the Kingdom, Dr. Nelson Jamil Shaban, in Riyadh.
The agreement aims to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the field of air transport services and bilateral cooperation based on mutual benefit and respect in accordance with the regulations, laws, and instructions in both countries. It also sets regulatory frameworks for air transport between the two countries in a safe, orderly, and sound manner under the principles endorsed by the 1944 Chicago Convention.
The agreement comes as part of the objectives of the civil aviation sector's strategy of building international partnerships and signing new bilateral agreements. It will support the ambitious goals of strengthening the Kingdom's air connectivity with the world in terms of becoming a global logistics platform supporting 250 destinations and transporting 330 million passengers annually by 2030.
