The Sultanate and Egypt signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the field of regularising air transportation services. The MoU was inked by Said bin Ali bin Nafl al Mashaali, Under-Secretary of the Transport and Communications Ministry for Civil Aviation Affairs and Alaa Ahmed Ashour, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority in Egypt.
As per the MoU, the national carriers will have a right to operate 10 passenger flights and 7 cargo trips on a weekly basis. An agreement to this effect was first concluded by Oman and Egypt in February 1987. The MoU was signed during a meeting of the authorities, which attended by representatives of Oman Air and Oman Airport Management Company participated at the meeting.
