Royal Air Maroc and Mauritania Airlines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a "free flow" code-share agreement for the direct Casablanca-Nouakchott air route on 4 April 2025 in Casablanca.
This strategic agreement is part of the ongoing efforts of both airlines to enhance their customers' experience, as it will allow passengers to benefit from several advantages that make their travel journey smoother, simpler, and more comfortable, according to a joint press release.
The agreement will strengthen links between the two countries, create connections to other routes, and expand destinations, while offering greater comfort to passengers.
The strategic Casablanca-Nouakchott route will thus be reinforced by both airlines. Royal Air Maroc, which currently operates seven direct frequencies per week on this route, will increase them to nine weekly frequencies. On its part, Mauritania Airlines will reach nine weekly frequencies on the direct Nouakchott-Casablanca route, an increase of three weekly frequencies.
Furthermore, both airlines will include four additional routes in the codeshare partnership to expand connectivity options. Mauritania Airlines' customers will have access to continuation flights through Royal Air Maroc’s Casablanca hub to four major cities: Madrid, Dubai, Paris, and Luanda.
