Kuwait Airways announced the launch of its first flight to Milan on 29 October 2018, with three scheduled weekly flights throughout the year.
The opening ceremony held at Milano Airport to mark the occasion, gathered Kuwait Ambassador to Italy Sheikh Ali Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, Consul General in Milan Abdulnasser Boukhdour, Board Member of Kuwait Airways Bassam Al Assousi and Acting Chief Executive Officer Engineer Abdullah Al-Sharhan, Director of Public Relations Fayez Al Enezi, Marketing Director Shorouq Al Awadhi, Undersecretary of the Presidency of Lombardia Region Alain Christian Ritsi and Director of Malpensa Airport Andrea Tucci.
Milan is the second destination of the Kuwait Airways to the Republic of Italy, after Rome.
Ambassador Sheikh Ali Al-Khaled Al-Sabah congratulated Kuwait Airways on the opening of the new destination in Italy, expecting the carrier to continue its growth and serve more passengers around the globe.
Acting Chief Executive Officer Engineer Abdullah Al-Sharhan said that the new route comes within the company’s quest to provide the best service to its guests. With the purchase of new aircraft, the launch of T4 designated for Kuwait Airways and the development and modernization of its services, the company can now unleash local, regional and global markets to establish a foothold and prove its ability to compete and make better choices."
Al-Sharhan thanked Kuwait's Ambassador to the Republic of Italy Sheikh Ali Al-Khaled Al-Sabah and Consul General Abdel Nasser Boukhdour for their contributions to this achievement and facilitating the mission of Kuwait Airways delegation. Al-Sharhan extended his thanks to the Italian authorities for helping the delegation organize this function.
