Gulf Air announced the signing of an agreement with Boeing valued at up to USD 4.6 billion, based on list price, to acquire 18 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, marking a major milestone in the airline’s long-term fleet modernization strategy. The aircraft will be powered by GE Aerospace engines, reinforcing Gulf Air’s commitment to operational excellence, sustainability, and enhanced passenger experience.
Gulf Air and Boeing signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly explore the establishment of workshop capabilities in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The MOU reflects a mutual commitment to assess potential strategic partnerships for localizing maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations in Bahrain. While still in a preliminary stage, this initiative supports Gulf Air’s broader efforts to collaborate with industry partners to introduce world-class MRO services, foster local talent, and create job opportunities in line with global standards and the latest technologies.
