Etihad Airways announces major plans for India following approval of Jet Airways partnership

Etihad Airways commences major expansion of its Indian operations following the approval of historic 24% investment in Jet Airways
Central to the Etihad Airways plan is the use of Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates, as a global hub connecting international passengers and freight with flights to and from India.
Pending the opening of a new facility, United States-bound passengers will be able to clear US immigration and customs at Abu Dhabi Airport.
The first stage of the Etihad Airways strategy includes additional flights or the introduction of larger aircraft on existing routes to India.
The initial flight increases by Etihad Airways are:
• Mumbai and New Delhi: 7 to 14 flights per week (immediate)
• Kochi: 7 to 14 flights per week (June 2014)
• Bangalore and Chennai: 7 to 14 flights per week (July 2014)
• Hyderabad: 7 to 14 flights per week (October 2014)
As well as more flights, Etihad Airways is introducing larger aircraft in some markets.
On the Abu Dhabi-Mumbai and Abu Dhabi – New Delhi routes, evening flights with narrow-bodied Airbus A320s have been upgraded to wide-bodied Airbus A340 and A330 jets. On the Mumbai services, this includes introduction of First Class cabins on the evening A340 flights.
New Airbus A321 aircraft, seating 174 passengers, will be used on all Abu Dhabi-Chennai services, and between Abu Dhabi and Kochi from June 2014.
Subject to regulatory approvals in a range of countries, Etihad Airways and Jet Airways also plan to codeshare on each other’s flights between Abu Dhabi, India and other markets in the Middle East, North America and Europe.
Etihad Airways will also codeshare on new flights by Jet Airways’ between India and the U.S., via the Abu Dhabi hub, subject to regulatory approval.
The changes are not confined to flight operations.
A key benefit of the Etihad Airways equity alliance is the ability of member airlines to work together not only to increase revenues but to reduce costs.
In addition to Jet Airways, Etihad Airways has invested in airberlin (29%), Air Seychelles (40%), Virgin Australia (19.9%) and Aer Lingus (3%). Etihad Airways also is awaiting regulatory approval to acquire 33.3 % of Swiss regional carrier Darwin Airline and in January 2014 will activate a 49% investment in Air Serbia.
Both airlines are exploring synergies ranging from integration of their loyalty programs to shared airport facilities and offices, common training of pilots and flight attendants and deployment of joint sales forces in markets served by both carriers.

الاتحاد للطيران تكشف النقاب عن خطط نمو هائلة في الهند عقب وصول الموافقات التنظيمية على صفقتها مع جيت آيروايز

بدأت الاتحاد للطيران أولى خطواتها الرامية إلى تعزيز النمو في السوق الهندية عقب الحصول على الموافقات التشغيلية لشراء 24 بالمئة من حصص جيت آيروايز.
تعتمد خطط الاتحاد للطيران على الاستفادة من مكانة العاصمة أبوظبي كمحور عالمي يربط بين حركة السفر والشحن مع الرحلات إلى الوجهات الهندية.
وعقب افتتاح مرافق جديدة للهجرة والجمارك، سيكون في مقدور المسافرين إلى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية إنهاء إجراءات الهجرة والجمارك الخاصة بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية في مطار أبوظبي الدولي.
وفي إطار المرحلة الأولى من استراتيجية النمو، سيتم تسيير مزيد من الرحلات وتشغيل طائرات أكبر على الوجهات الحالية في الهند.
كما تعتزم الشركة زيادة عدد الرحلات بصورة مبدئية على النحو التالي:
مومباي ونيودلهي: زيادة عدد الرحلات من 7 إلى 14 رحلة أسبوعياً (اعتباراً من تاريخه(
كوتشي: زيادة عدد الرحلات من 7 إلى 14 رحلة أسبوعياً (اعتباراً من يونيو 2014(
بانغلور وتشيناي: زيادة عدد الرحلات من 7 إلى 14 رحلة أسبوعياً (اعتباراً من يوليو 2014(
حيدرأباد: زيادة عدد الرحلات من 7 إلى 14 رحلة أسبوعياً (اعتباراً من أكتوبر 2014(
وتنوي الاتحاد للطيران أيضاً تشغيل طائرات أكبر في العديد من الأسواق، إذ تعتزم الشركة استبدال الطائرات ضيقة البدن بطائرات عريضة البدن من طراز ايرباص 320 على الرحلات المسائية بين أبوظبي و مومباي وأبوظبي ونيودلهي، كما سيتم أيضاً إطلاق مقصورة الدرجة الأولى على متن الرحلات المسائية إلى مومباي باستخدام طائرات ايرباص من طراز 340.
ومن المقرر تشغيل طائرة جديدة من طراز ايرباص 321، التي تضمّ 174 مقعداً، على كافة رحلات الشركة بين أبوظبي وتشيناي ورحلات أبوظبي وكوتشي وذلك اعتباراً من يونيو 2014.
وشريطة الحصول على الموافقات التنظيمية في عدد من الدول ذات الصلة، تعتزم الاتحاد للطيران وجيت آيروايز تشغيل رحلات مشاركة بالرمز على باقة من الرحلات بين العاصمة أبوظبي والهند وعدد من الأسواق الأخرى في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وأمريكا الشمالية وأوروبا.
وإضافة إلى ذلك، تسعى الاتحاد للطيران إلى الشراكة بالرمز على الرحلات الجديدة التي ستشغلها جيت آيروايز بين الهند والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية عبر مركز العمليات التشغيلية الرئيسي في أبوظبي، وذلك شريطة الحصول على الموافقات التنظيمية.
ولا تقتصر هذه التطورات على رحلات الطيران فحسب. فمن بين الفوائد الهامة المصاحبة لتحالف الحصص التابع للاتحاد للطيران هو إتاحة الفرصة للشركة الأعضاء ليس فقط لزيادة حجم العائدات بل أيضاً لترشيد التكاليف.
وإلى جانب جيت آيروايز، عمدت الاتحاد للطيران إلى الاستثمار في حصص طيران برلين 29 بالمئة وطيران سيشل 40 بالمئة وفيرجن أستراليا 19.9 بالمئة وآير لينغوس 3 بالمئة. كما تنتظر الشركة أيضاً موافقة شركة الطيران السويسرية داروين آيرلاين، علماً بأنه سيبدأ تفعيل صفقة الاتحاد للطيران لشراء 49 بالمئة من حصص الخطوط الجوية الصربية اعتباراً من يناير 2014.
تسعى كلا الشركتين إلى اكتشاف فرص الانسجام والتنسيق المشتركة بدءاً من إدماج برامج الولاء ومشاركة مرافق ومكاتب المطارات وأنشطة التدريب المشتركة للطيران وطاقم الضيافة الجوية، مرروا بالاستفادة من عناصر المبيعات المشتركة في الأسواق التي تعمل بها كلا الشركتين.
