General Opening of the 50th Annual General Meeting of the Arab Air Carriers’ Organization
Under the High Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Arab Air Carriers’ Organization (AACO) 50th Annual General Meeting (AGM), will be held between 20 and 22 November 2017 at “Radisson Blu Hotel”- Sharjah, by kind invitation of Mr. Adel A. Ali/ Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia Group and Chairman of the 50th AGM, with the participation of more than 250 Arab and global aviation industry experts.
The AGM’s general opening ceremony will take place tonight on 20 November at “Expo Centre Sharjah”.
The AGM working sessions will be held tomorrow on 21 November at “Mubarakia Ballroom”, “Radisson Blu Hotel”. The Sessions will feature AACO Secretary General’s report on the State of the Industry. Mr. Muhammad Albakri / Regional Vice President -Africa & Middle East, will present the speech of Mr. Alexandre De Juniac, Director General and CEO of IATA, about industry issues. The session will also include a speech by Eng. Mohamed Sherif, Director General of ACAC, about common issues between AACO and ACAC, and a speech by Prof. Abdulrahman Ibrahim Al-Shaer, Vice President of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences about the cooperation with AACO on Aviation Security issues. This will be followed by a closed session dedicated for AACO members to discuss and decide on internal and administrative issues related to AACO’s work and on common strategic issues.
The afternoon session of 21 November will witness the Joint Aviation Forum; a discussion panel to be moderated by Mr. Jonathan Sullivan of Seabury Consulting, with the participation of the following esteemed speakers:
- Mr. Henrik Hololei / Director General for Mobility and Transport/ European Commission
- Mr. Adel A. Ali / Group Chief Executive Officer / Air Arabia
- Mr. Peter Baumgartner / Chief Executive Officer / Etihad Airways
- Mr. Samer Majali / Chief Executive Officer /SaudiGulf Airlines
The AGM will conclude on the same day with a press conference to be held at “Mubarakia Ballroom”, “Radisson Blu Hotel”, during which the AGM Chairman and AACO Secretary General will be available to answer questions of the media.
