General Opening of the 48th Annual General Meeting of the Arab Air Carriers Organization
Under the High Patronage of HRH Prince Khalid Al Faisal bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region, the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO) 48th Annual General Meeting (AGM), which also coincides with the Golden Jubilee of AACO, will be held between 29 November and 1 December 2015 at the Jeddah Hilton Hotel, by kind invitation of H.E Eng. Saleh N. Al Jasser/ Director General of Saudia and Chairman of the 48th AGM, with the participation of more than 300 Arab and global aviation industry experts.
The AGM’s general opening ceremony will take place tonight at “Laylati Ballroom” where His Excellency Mr. Suleiman bin Abdullah Al-Hamdan, Chairman of the Kingdom’s General Authority for Civil Aviation will deliver the opening speech of the AGM. The AGM Chairman - H.E Eng. Saleh N. Al Jasser, Assistant Secretary General of the League of Arab States – H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Al Twaijery, and AACO Secretary General – Abdul Wahab Teffaha will also deliver speeches at the opening.
The AGM working sessions will be held tomorrow on 30 November at "Hilton Hall Ballroom" at the Jeddah Hilton Hotel. The Sessions will feature AACO Secretary General’s report on the State of the Industry, a Speech by Eng. Mohamed Sherif, Director General of ACAC about common issues between AACO and ACAC, a speech by Mr. Tony Tyler, Director General and CEO of IATA about industry issues, and a special presentation by Prof. Geoffrey Lipman, Founder & Creative Disruption Architect of Green Growth & Travelism Institute. This will be followed by a closed session dedicated for AACO members to discuss and decide on internal and administrative issues related to AACO’s work and on common strategic issues.
The afternoon session of 30 November will witness a discussion panel to be moderated by Mr. Richard Quest, CNN's foremost international business correspondent and presenter, with the participation of several esteemed speakers discussing their views on how the aviation industry will evolve in the next 25 years.
The AGM will conclude its work on the same day with a press conference to be held at "Hilton Hall Ballroom" at the Jeddah Hilton hotel during which the AGM Chairman and AACO Secretary General will be available to answer questions of the media.
