Queen Alia International Airport welcomes over 7.9 million passengers in 2017

Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed 7,914,704 passengers throughout the year 2017. According to figures released by Airport International Group, the Airport witnessed a 6.8% increase in PAX in comparison to the previous year. Meanwhile, aircraft movement (ACM) figures registered a marginal year-to-date (YTD) increase of 0.4% this past year, totaling 74,044 movements, while cargo traffic figures experienced an overall growth of 9.1%, settling at 110,416 tons.
In December 2017, QAIA welcomed 576,466 passengers, indicating a 7.0% year-on-year increase in comparison to the 538,866 passengers received in the same period of last year. QAIA also witnessed an 8.2% decrease in ACM, registering 5,467 ACM as opposed to 5,953 in December 2016. Moreover, QAIA recorded 10,312 tons of cargo in comparison to the 8,917 tons handled in the same period in 2017, signaling a notable year-on-year increase of 15.6%.
The figures for 2017 have shown steady growth, particularly during the summer months and the Kingdom’s holiday and tourism seasons. In August, QAIA’s monthly passenger record was broken, registering a total of 938,427 passengers, the highest ever in the Airport’s 34 years.

مطار الملكة علياء الدولي يستقبل أكثر من 7.9 مليون مسافر خلال عام 2017

استقبل مطار الملكة علياء الدولي ما مجموعه 7,914,704 مسافر خلال عام 2017، بزيادة نسبتها 6.8 بالمئة مقارنة بالعام 2016. وبحسب الإحصائيات الصادرة عن "مجموعة المطار الدولي"، فقد وصلت حركة الطائرات خلال العام ذاته إلى 74,044 حركة، لتسجّل ارتفاعاً طفيفاً بنسبة 0.4 بالمئة، كما سجّلت حركة الشحن الجوي ارتفاعاً إجمالياً منذ بداية عام 2017 بنسبة 9.1 بالمئة وبواقع 110,416 طناً.
وخلال شهر كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2017، استقبل المطار 576,466 مسافراً، مقارنة مع 538,866 مسافراً خلال الفترة نفسها من عام 2016، بارتفاع نسبته 7 بالمئة في حركة المسافرين على أساس سنوي. كذلك، شهدت حركة الطائرات خلال الشهر ذاته انخفاضاً بنسبة 8.2 بالمئة، مسجلة 5,467 حركة، مقارنة بـ 5,953 حركة خلال شهر كانون الأول/ديسمبر من عام 2016، يأتي ذلك فيما شهدت حركة الشحن الجوي ارتفاعاً سنوياً ملحوظاً بنسبة 15.6 بالمئة، حيث وصلت إلى 10,312 طناً، مقارنة بـ 8,917 طناً في الفترة ذاتها من عام 2016.
وأظهرت الاحصائيات التي سجلها المطار على مدار العام 2017 نمواً ملحوظا في النتائج؛ ففي شهر آب/أغسطس 2017، حقق المطار حركة مسافرين هي الأعلى في تاريخه منذ 34 عاماً، مع استقباله لـ 938,427 مسافراً.
