Passenger traffic at Abu Dhabi International Airport Increases by 10.1% in September 2013

Abu Dhabi Airports released Abu Dhabi International Airport’s (AUH) traffic report for the month of September 2013. Over 1.3 million (1,369,051) passengers travelled through the airport last month, demonstrating a significant growth of 10.1% compared to the same period in 2012. The report also revealed that the Capital City airport registered a 12.1% growth in passenger traffic in the first 9 months of 2013 compared with the same period (Jan-Sept 2012), with 12,249,300 passengers handled this year.

Aircraft movement reached 11,379 in September 2013, representing a 13.1% increase, while cargo traffic also grew, marking a 27.6 % increase with more than 61,913 tons of cargo moved last month.

The top five destinations in September 2013 were Bangkok, London, Doha, Manila, and Sydney.

The Capacity Enhancement Program currently in progress will enable Abu Dhabi International Airport to accommodate more than 17 million passengers annually through strategic enhancements to existing facilities, the most recent of these being the new Arrivals Hall, which opened earlier this year. Travelers are now able to access parking, taxis and limousines just 20 meters away from the customs lounge, through the new tunnel connecting the customs area with new Arrivals Hall.

ارتفاع حركة المسافرين في مطار أبوظبي الدولي بنسبة 10.1 بالمئة خلال سبتمبر

ارتفع عدد مستخدمي مطار أبوظبي الدولي خلال شهر سبتمبر الماضي بنسبة 10.1 بالمئة مقارنةً بنفس الفترة من العام الماضي. ووفقاً للتقرير الصادر من مطارات أبوظبي حول حركة المطار خلال شهر سبتمبر 2013، فقد استقبل المطار أكثر من1.3 مليون مسافر (1,369,051)، وسجل زيادة ملحوظة في حركة المسافرين خلال الأشهر التسعة الماضية بنسبة 12.1 بالمئة مقارنة مع نفس الفترة في عام 2012، باستخدام 12,249,300 مسافر للمطار خلال تلك الفترة، ما يؤكد مكانة مطار العاصمة كأحد أسرع المطارات نمواً في المنطقة، ويعزز مكانة أبوظبي كوجهة مميزة للأعمال والترفيه والسياحة.

وكشف التقرير عن ارتفاع حركة الطائرات بنسبة 13.1 بالمائة مقارنةً بشهر سبتمبر 2012 لتصل إلى 11,379 حركة طيران، وزيادة حركة شحن البضائع بنسبة  27.6 بالمئة لتسجل  61,913 طناً في الشهر الماضي. وضمت قائمة أكثر خمس وجهات تشغيلاً من مطار أبوظبي الدولي خلال شهر سبتمبر بحسب التقرير كلاً من، بانكوك، ولندن، والدوحة، ومانيلا وسيدني.
يذكر أن مطارات أبوظبي تواصل تنفيذ برنامج زيادة الطاقة الاستيعابية لمطار أبوظبي الدولي، حيث ستتيح أعمال توسعة وتطوير المرافق الحالية للسفر زيادة الطاقة الاستيعابية للمطار لاستيعاب أكثر من 17 مليون مسافر سنوياً. وكان المطار قد شهد في وقت سابق من العام الجاري افتتاح صالة القادمين الجديدة التي تربط المسافرين القادمين بشكل مباشر عبر نفق مشاه جديد بساحة الاستقبال الأرضية ومواقف السيارات ومركبات الأجرة، التي تبعد حوالي 20 متراً من صالة الجمارك، وذلك في إطار الخطة التطويرية الشاملة للمطار.
