5.9 million passengers through Muscat International Airport by the end of August 2014

Muscat International Airport witnessed a consistent growth in aircraft movements and passenger numbers by the end of August 2014. The total number of flights increased by 1.1% reaching 54,038 flight movements, compared with 53,459 recorded during the same period in 2013. The number of international and domestic passengers handled at the end of August 2014 reached 5,915,528 passengers, compared with 5,528,361 passengers in 2013, reflecting an annual increase of 7%.
Breaking down the figures issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the total number of international flights in Muscat International Airport by the end of August 2014 reached 47,390 flights, compared with 47,132 flights during the same period in 2013, representing an annual increase of 0.5%. Statistics also reveal the total number of international arrival, departure and transit passengers recorded at Muscat International Airport increased by 6.8%, reaching 5,352,541 passengers, compared with 5,010,091 passengers during the same period in 2013, this figure is represented by 2,677,122 arrival passengers, 2,651,802 departure passengers and 23,617 transit passengers.
The total number of domestic flights at Muscat International Airport by the end of August 2014 reached 6,648 flights, representing an increase of 5.1% when compared to 6,327 flights during the same period in 2013, while the total number of domestic passengers increased by 8.6%, reaching 562,987, compared with 518,270 passengers recorded during the same period in 2013.
According to the NCSI figures, traffic movements at Salalah Airport showed significant growth by the end of August 2014, with flight and passenger numbers increasing. The total number of flights recorded to the end of August reached 5,678 flights, compared with 4,654 flights during the same period in 2013, representing an annual growth of 22%. Meanwhile, the total number of passengers recorded an increase of 16.1%, reaching 571,246 passengers, compared with 491,891 passengers during the same period in 2013.
The NCSI Air movement statistics reveal that the number of international flights at Salalah Airport reached 1,902 flights by the end of August 2014, compared with 1,124 flights during the same period in 2013, a significant annual growth of 69.2%. The total number of international passengers increased by 57.3% by the end of August 2014, reaching 159,892 passengers compared with 101,668 passengers recorded in the same period in 2013. Meanwhile, the total number of domestic flights at Salalah Airport increased by 7%, reaching 3,776 flights compared with 3,530 flights during the same period in 2013. Domestic passenger numbers also increased by 5.4%, reaching 411,354 passengers, compared with 390,223 passengers during the same period in 2013.

شهدت حركة الطيران في مطار مسقط الدولي بنهاية شهر أغسطس 2014 ارتفاعا في عدد الرحلات وعدد المسافرين؛ حيث ارتفع إجمالي عدد الرحلات بنسبة 1.1 بالمئة حيث بلغت 54,038 رحلة قياسا بالفترة المماثلة من عام 2013 والتي بلغت 53,459 رحلة. كما ارتفع إجمالي عدد المسافرين حتى نهاية أغسطس 2014 بنسبة 7 بالمئة ليصل إلى 5,915,528 مسافرا مقارنة مع 5,528,361 مسافرا للفترة المماثلة من العام 2013.
وفي التفاصيل؛ بلغ إجمالي الرحلات الدولية في مطار مسقط الدولي بنهاية أغسطس من العام 2014 47,390 رحلة مقارنة مع 47,132 رحلة والمسجل بنهاية الفترة ذاتها من العام 2013 وبنسبة ارتفاع بلغت 0.5 بالمئة؛ وتشير بيانات حركة الطيران للرحلات الدولية الصادرة عن المركز الوطني للإحصاء والمعلومات إلى تسجيل إجمالي المسافرين (القادمون، المغادرون، وركاب العبور إلى وجهة أخرى "ترانزيت") عبر مطار مسقط الدولي ارتفاعا بنسبة 6.8 بالمئة ليصل إلى 5,352,541 مسافرا مقارنة مع 5,010,091 مسافراً للفترة المماثلة من العام 2013، يتوزعون إلى 2,677,122 قادمون، و2,651,802 مغادرون، و23,617 "ترانزيت" عابر إلى وجهة أخرى.
ومن ناحية أخرى؛ بلغ إجمالي الرحلات الداخلية عبر مطار مسقط الدولي حتى نهاية أغسطس 2014 6,648 رحلة مقارنة مع 6,327 رحلة للفترة ذاتها من العام 2013 بنسبة ارتفاع بلغت 5.1 بالمئة، بينما بلغ إجمالي المسافرين خلال الفترة ذاتها 562,987 مسافرا مقابل 518,270 مسافراً بنسبة ارتفاع 8.6 بالمئة للفترة ذاتها من 2013.
من جانب آخر شهدت حركة الطيران في مطار صلالة نشاطاً ملحوظاً خلال الفترة المذكورة؛ حيث سجلت ارتفاعاً ملحوظاً في إجمالي عدد الرحلات والمسافرين، فقد بلغ إجمالي عدد الرحلات بنهاية شهر أغسطس من العام 2014 5,678 رحلة مقارنة مع 4,654 رحلة للفترة ذاتها من العام 2013، مسجلة نسبة نمو بلغت 22 بالمئة، كما ارتفع إجمالي عدد المسافرين بنسبة 16.1 بالمئة ليصل إلى 571,246 مسافراً مقارنة مع 491,891 مسافراً من العام 2013.
وتشير بيانات حركة الطيران إلى أن إجمالي عدد الرحلات الدولية في مطار صلالة حتى نهاية أغسطس 2014 بلغ 1,902 رحلة مقارنة مع 1,124 رحلة بنهاية أغسطس 2013 مسجلا نسبة نمو بلغت 69.2 بالمئة، كما ارتفع إجمالي عدد المسافرين خلال الفترة ذاتها بنسبة 57.3 بالمئة يصل إلى 159,892 مسافراً مقارنة مع 101,668 مسافراً. بينما بلغ إجمالي عدد الرحلات الداخلية في مطار صلالة بنهاية شهر أغسطس 2014 3,776 رحلة مقارنة مع 3,530 رحلة بنسبة نمو بلغت 7 بالمئة، وشهد إجمالي المسافرين عبر الرحلات الداخلية في مطار صلالة ارتفاعاً بنسبة 5.4 بالمئة ليصل إلى 411,354 مسافراً مقارنة مع 390,223 مسافراً للفترة ذاتها من 2013.
