The number of passengers at Rafic Hariri International Airport has increased by more than 16% during January 2012 compared to same month of previous year. According to Lebanese Al-Mustaqbal Newspaper, this last January recorded 430,472 passengers.
Directorate of Civil Aviation has announced an increase in departures and arrivals from and to Lebanon, and a rise of 37.53% in transit passengers. Statistics indicated that “despite the increase in aircraft movements from and to Lebanon, the number of commercial overflights saw a decrease that affected the total number of flights. Moreover, traffic of private aircraft decreased by almost 20%.”
In January 2012, passenger numbers at the airport reached 430,472 with an increase of 16.43%. Number of arriving passengers to the airport recorded 182,973 with an increase of 17.64%. Number of departing passengers from the airport reached 241,768 with an increase by 15.11%. Also, the airport handled 5,731 transit passengers with an increase of 37.53%.
