Several Arab governments announced economic stimulus packages to ease the economic impact of the coronavirus outbreak in their respective countries. Some of the packages are general for the economy where they include specific allocations to the aviation sector.
The United Arab Emirates has dedicated a USD 34.3 billion economic stimulus package. Meanwhile, Oman has put USD 20 billion in extra liquidity to banks as part of a slate of stimulus measures. Saudi Arabia dedicated a USD 32 Billion economic stimulus package, Qatar (USD 20.5 billion), Bahrain (USD 11.7 billion), Egypt (USD 6.4 billion), Kuwait (USD 1.6 billion), Tunisia (USD 0.9 billion), Jordan (USD 0.7 billion), Morocco (USD 1 billion) and Lebanon’s Central bank announced facilitating bank loans to businesses where special interest rates could be agreed that could reach zero.
