The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in Saudi Arabia announced signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Yemeni Republic to update the operational framework of air services to cope with the air transport developments, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Both parties have agreed to increase the number of scheduled flights for the designated carries of the two states, without any restrictions on aircraft type and seat capacity. Moreover, the MoU stipulates that carries from both countries can operate cargo flights, while also including all international operating points in the MoU, including Al-Madina Al-Mounawara. The MoU highlights the importance of allowing strategic allying and codesharing between carriers, and the development of all types of air traffic to meet the growing demand between the two countries.
