Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) initialed an Air Services Agreement (ASA) between Kuwait and Australia, and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that includes all operating points, also paving the way for commercial cooperation between both countries’ airlines; as reported by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA). DGCA stated that the main operating points in the MoU regulate passenger operations and opens cargo operations totally using all air transport freedoms.

KUNA’s report mentioned that Engineer Nabeel Abed Al-Mohsen Al-Zamel, Kuwait’s delegate to these talks, highlighted that this agreement comes in line with DGCA’s policy to liberalize its skies and bolster bilateral air transport ties with other states. Al-Zamel, who serves as a Deputy Director General of Civil Aviation for safety issues and air transport at the DGCA, added that this agreement comes also in line with facilitating the operations of commercial passenger and cargo airlines that belong to both states; moreover, the agreement links Kuwait International Airport with the biggest number of international airports, which enhances the air traffic and encourages trade exchange between Kuwait and Australia.
