Saudia received a new Boeing B787 (Dreamliner) recorded in the aircraft fleet (HZ-AR23) and was scheduled for operation as of April 19 after the issuance of necessary licenses from the General Authority of Civil Aviation. Its first flight was from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to the airport King Khalid International in Riyadh.
The new aircraft is the thirteenth and final B787-9 Dreamliner since the first flight in February 2016. Since its arrival in Saudi Arabia, the aircraft has catered for the operational requirements of the airline such as operational efficiency, technological services and spacious seating. The aircraft accommodates for 298 seats, 24 for business class and 274 for economy.
