Nile Air increased its presence in Iraq with the launch of a new once-weekly service between Cairo and Basra to create a direct link between the two cities. 
The service was launched on 5 February 2016, and provides the only scheduled air link between Egypt and Basra. The new service is being operated onboard an A320 aircraft. The city of Basra becomes Nile Air’s thirteenth destination and second in Iraq - complementing its existing service to Baghdad.
Moreover, Nile Air announced an increase in capacity between Cairo and Kuwait City with the introduction of a third weekly scheduled flight, effective 23 February 2016. The route has grown to become one of the most popular in Nile Air’s network, building on strong commercial ties between the capital cities of the Egypt and Kuwait. 
In addition to this route, Nile Air also operates scheduled services between Kuwait City and Alexandria’s Borg Al Arab.
