nasair announced that it has received its first 4 new Airbus A320 as part of its deal to purchase 10 new aircraft which are all scheduled to be delivered during the current year of 2013. This exercise falls in line with nasair's efforts to increase its fleet of Airbus A320s to provide for the ever increasing demand of its customers. This highlights the continued growth of the airline which has expansion plans both within and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In this regard, Mr. Raja Azmi, Chief Executive Officer of nasair - has stated that these 4 new aircraft are the first to be received by nasair in 2013 and is to be followed by an additional 6 aircraft to be inducted in the company's fleet. This is in addition to 16 aircraft already in the fleet. He further stressed that increasing the fleet in this manner highlights the clear vision of the airline in the coming years in terms of expanding its operation and serving a wider number of passengers both in and outside the Kingdom.
For his part, Mr. Megat Ardian, Chief Commercial Officer of nasair, mentioned that the arrival of the new aircraft comes at an opportune time as it meets the Holy month of Ramadan, where the demand is at its peak. He further stressed that nasair will be adding 32,000 seats a day and shall have 12 daily return flights from Riyadh to Jeddah at the commencement of Ramadan.
Since its inception in 2007, nasair has carried more than 11 million and has more than 950 weekly flights and operates 88 routes both in and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
