On 21 September 2017, AACO Executive Committee held its 80th meeting in Beirut, Lebanon under the chairmanship of H.E. Eng. Saleh Al Jasser, Director General of Saudia and the Chairman of AACO Executive Committee. The meeting was held at the headquarters of Middle East Airlines under the kind hospitality of Mr. Mohamad Al-Hout, Chairman and Director General of Middle East Airlines with the participation of all the members of the committee that gathers Chief Executive Officers of nine Arab airlines, and AACO Secretary General.
 
The committee discussed strategic air transport issues pertaining to Aeropolitical affairs and the latest proposed and/or imposed regulations on air transport around the world which have an effect on the expansion and growth of AACO member airlines. The committee addressed aviation security issues as well and the latest updates in that regard in addition to strategic issues related to cooperation between AACO member airlines. Current joint projects between members were also reviewed in addition to some administrative and financial issues specific to AACO in preparation for the AACO 50th AGM that will be held in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates on 20-22 November 2017.
 
At the end of the meeting, the CEOs of the Arab airlines toured the Beirut Training Center and Aviation Academy that Middle East Airlines will be opening next month, whereby the CEOs expressed their great admiration to the global standards of the academy that rise above what’s available at the best academies around the world.
 
The committee also thanked H.E. Eng. Al Jasser for chairing the meeting and Mr. Mohamad Al-Hout for his kind hospitality.
